Hillesvåg Wool Mill

Hillesvåg, just outside Bergen

Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk is a traditional Norwegian yarn producer with deep roots in Norwegian wool and knitting traditions. At the mill, you will find both a shop and production facilities, with a large selection of yarn made from Norwegian wool.

We have had the pleasure of collaborating with Hillesvåg in connection with Ullveka 2025, where we were commissioned to design the Sval Shawl – this year's Ullveka shawl. The shawl was developed with a focus on Norwegian wool and the high quality that Hillesvåg is known for.

You can find the Sval Shawl as a free pattern under "Free patterns." You will also find yarn and patterns from Hillesvåg for several of our other designs.

Norwegian Textile Industry Museum

Salhus, Bergen

The Museum of Textile Industry is located in the old Salhus Tricotagefabrik from 1859 and conveys the history of the textile industry in Western Norway. Here, you can experience the old factory premises and the machines that still show how wool and other textiles were processed and eventually turned into finished garments.

In connection with the Bergen Knit Festival's 10th anniversary, we have been fortunate enough to design Ulla Vest in collaboration with the Museum of Textile Industry. A partnership we are incredibly proud of, where we get to connect knitting, Norwegian textile tradition, and the history in Salhus.

Windwear

Norwegian-designed windbreakers for those who love knitting

We are so happy to collaborate with Windwear – a Norwegian-developed wind shirt designed for those who want to wear their knit sweaters outdoors, even when it is windy and cold. The wind shirt is a thin and lightweight, windproof layer that you can wear under your sweater, so you don't have to hide it under a bulky windbreaker.

We have a selection of Windwear wind shirts in our online store. Can't find the model, size, or color you want with us? Then you can shop directly from Windwear and use the code SJOLLAGET for a 15% discount.

A little favorite for Norwegian autumn and winter days – and perfect under a knit sweater!
