A LITTLE ABOUT THE VEST

This unisex vest was designed to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Bergen Knitting Festival and was developed in collaboration with the Norwegian Museum of Textile Industry. The design is inspired by Norwegian knitting tradition, interpreted in a modern and timeless form – just the way we at Sjøllaget love it!

The vest is knitted top-down in two different honeycomb structures. Museumstvinn yarn gives the vest a firm and dimensionally stable expression. First, the back is shaped with European shoulders, then it is knitted down to the armholes. Then, stitches are picked up from the shoulders for the front pieces, which are knitted separately before the front and back pieces are joined and the body is knitted back and forth, as the vest is open at the front. Along the front edges, stitches are picked up for button bands, which are knitted in double knitting. The vest is finished with an i-cord edge along the entire vest and around the armholes.

FIT

The vest is a unisex model. Choose your size based on desired bust circumference. The garment is designed with approx. 5–10 cm of positive ease, depending on size and desired fit.

Two colors: 10x 10 cm = approx. 26-27 sts and approx. 40 rows on needle size 4 mm honeycomb with two colors.

If you get more or fewer stitches than the gauge indicates, you can adjust the needle size up or down.

NOTE! Remember that everyone knits differently, test on a swatch to measure your gauge. If you knit a bit loosely, it might be a good idea to go down half/one needle size. If you knit a bit tightly, you can go up half/one needle size.
